MY Classification Sdn Bhd surveys, classes, and certifies Malaysian-flag vessels — with statutory authority from the Ministry of Transport and Jabatan Laut Malaysia.

Introduction

From Chancellor Maritime to MY Classification.

MY Classification Sdn Bhd - previously known as Chancellor Maritime and Offshore Sdn Bhd - is appointed as a Recognized Organization (RO) by the Ministry of Transport and Jabatan Laut Malaysia, most recently formalized through Merchant Shipping Notice (MSN) 07/2025.

MSN 07/2025 also sets out our authorized scope - including the classification of dredgers, sand carriers, and 3-in-1 vessels, and extended operating limits into ASEAN waters for smaller vessels.
