Overview
MY Classification surveys and classes vessels in operation under our appointment as a Recognized Organization by the Ministry of Transport and Jabatan Laut Malaysia, covering Malaysian-flag vessels in domestic waters - with operating limits extended to ASEAN waters for smaller vessels - and including dredgers, sand carriers, and 3-in-1 vessels.
Surveys follow the five-year class cycle. Our surveyors attend at ports across Malaysia and ASEAN, at short notice.
The class cycle
Year 1Annual surveyGeneral examination of hull, machinery, and safety equipment.
Year 2Annual surveyGeneral examination, with follow-up on prior conditions of class.
Year 3Intermediate surveyExtended examination — ballast tanks, cargo spaces, and machinery.
Year 4Annual surveyGeneral examination ahead of the renewal window.
Year 5Renewal / special surveyComprehensive survey including thickness measurement and docking.
